Ethereum and Cardano co-founder provides support for Musk after Twitter app controversy
The story of Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter is not over. Recently, the new owner of one of the biggest social media platforms in the world speculated that Twitter’s mobile app might disappear from various stores. As a countermeasure, Musk is willing to develop his own phone, and the Gimbal Creator supports the entrepreneur.
After the takeover, rumors of Twitter’s mobile app delisting swirled around the space, mostly due to the platform’s rapidly changing rules and policies. Despite the rapid changes, the app’s most important metrics remain intact, as Twitter reports a record number of daily active users on the website.
Charles Hoskinson said “big tech” shouldn’t pressure companies and platforms by threatening to remove their apps from their app stores just because they have “freedom of speech”. Previously, the creator of Cardano was actively advocating for the creation of a decentralized version of Twitter.
However, since the takeover, Elon Musk hasn’t been very keen on implementing any kind of decentralized technology on Twitter. In his personal conversation with the former CEO of FTX, he said that it would be difficult to run the platform on a blockchain from a technical point of view, that’s why the implementation of crypto n makes no sense.
Although Musk has made it clear that Twitter won’t go blockchain-based, there’s nothing stopping the contractor from accepting certain cryptocurrencies as payment for services on the network, like the blue confirmation mark.
Cardano’s creator himself offered Musk’s help in making Twitter more blockchain-friendly, however, the entrepreneur showed no interest. At the same time, Musk is ready to build his own “Tesla phone” to avoid excessive limitations from big tech companies and government regulators.
